The Orange Heart Project

Launched in May 2025 to celebrate National Palliative Care Week, the Orange Heart Project has been successfully implemented across eight health services in Gippsland and most recently, at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center.

The project aims to enhance sensitivity and care for the dying person by using the Palliative Care Australia orange heart symbol as a discrete indicator for staff and visitors to ensures privacy and dignity when it is needed most.
